About Us
History
In 1992, two passionate mountain bike enthusiasts formed CycleSurgery when they realised that there was a great opportunity to provide unprecedented servicing and repairs with a passion for delivering quality workmanship. Quickly becoming a firm favourite for the London mountain biking and commuting community, the original workshop in Islington quickly grew to 4 stores across London. In 2002 our Selfridges & Co concession store was opened and contributed to the 8 store count by 2007.
At this stage, Snow+Rock the leading winter and outdoor retailer acquired the business, quickly growing the spread of stores to 18, including 9 concession stores within existing Snow+Rock locations and our first international store in Dublin. With mail order, a successful website and lots of passionate people in store, CycleSurgery has grown to be a leading specialist in the UK cycle industry.
The next chapter
While increasing the number of locations, the focus is still on the local shop feel of the stores, offering expert advice from cycling enthusiasts. More stores does not equal a cycling supermarket. With 8 stores located within Snow+Rock locations nationally there is an opportunity to attract a broader audience of active people. With stores all over England and one in Ireland the reach and awareness of CycleSurgery has never been greater.
At our core are the 9 London based stores, footfall and demand is high, and needs are diverse – from commuters on a budget to competitive cyclists with high levels of disposable income, we cater for everyone.
We now have 40,000 square feet of warehouse space, and a despatch team we share with Snow+Rock, which means that we can keep all our stores well stocked with the latest season’s products.

We stand by the theory that we’ve taken the guess work away for customers and we are confident that whatever product the customer buys, they will be happy and come back to see us again.

Staff
We are nothing without our dedicated staff.
All our workshop technicians are trained to a minimum of cytech level 1 standards, and many of our store staff compete in various cycling disciplines and are happy to pass on their knowledge and experience. All CycleSurgery people share a love for cycling that is evident in all that we do. There is no elitism here and we welcome a newcomer to the sport with the same open arms as a seasoned pro.
Our mission statement is that every person walking into our stores will feel more inspired to get on their bike when they leave.
The internet is now an everyday part of life at CycleSurgery for both our staff and our customers. While on-line retailing can be a very complex operation our aims remain very simple: To offer our customers the best products backed up by efficient service, and peace of mind that they are buying from a credible bricks and mortar retailer.
In the last year we have continued investment and development of our dot com business to streamline our internal systems and make the buying process easier for our customers. The results have meant that we have been able to process a record number of sales more efficiently, allowing us to use our man-hours to better serve our customers.
We achieve 84,000+ visitors every month.
