Over 600,000 customers visited in its first week of trading with a media blitz generating over €2million of national print, TV and radio coverage. The excitement was justified as Dundrum brought some of the finest retailers from around the world to this magnificent location to create a national shopping destination.
Since opening its doors in March 2005, Dundrum Town Centre has been praised for the retail mix showcased throughout the centre.
From exclusive flagships such as House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols through to shoppers’ favourites Marks & Spencer and Penneys, the retail offering has received critical acclaim from fashion editors, property press, stylists and shopper alike as offering something for everyone.
Dundrum Town Centre introduced over 20 “retail firsts” for Ireland including Tommy Hilfiger, Massimo Dutti, Starbucks and H&M. In 2006, the success has continued with the addition of Korky’s and Du Pareil au Meme. More recently, sushi lovers were delighted with the opening of the 1st Yo! Sushi outlet in Ireland.
Pembroke District and Dundrum South opened in late 2008 brought other “Ireland’s firsts”. Gant, first Mexx family store, Snow+Rock with Cycle Surgery, famous American restaurant The Counter and world famous toy retailer Hamleys with its first stand alone store after Regent Street. Cath Kidston and Magee chose Dundrum as a location for their flagship stores. Pembroke District now boasts world of toys, selection of fine dining and great choice of fashion. Dundrum South had become a home to Ireland’s biggest sport sport – Elverys and largest bookstore in Ireland – Hughes&Hughes.
