Over 600,000 thousand customers visited in its first week of trading with a media blitz generating over €2million of national print, TV and radio coverage. The excitement was justified as Dundrum brought some of the finest retailers from around the world to this magnificent location to create a national shopping destination.

The centre combines light airy malls with tree lined walkways and an open air town square and historic mill pond, which function as the heart of the centre. Traditional natural materials have been used in a controlled modern idiom on the building façade including terracotta, granite, limestone, clay brick, glass, timber and copper sheeting, with interior finishes including gypsum ceilings, jarrah wood pilasters, curved glass balustrading with timber handrails and an intricately designed floor of limestones and granites.

Visitors to Dundrum have reacted hugely positively to the centre’s innovative design with 84% of those recently surveyed agreeing that Dundrum’s layout makes it easy to find the shops they want.

Moving around the Centre is facilitated by every possible means from escalators to travelators, lifts to stairwells. Information on all aspects relating to the Centre is made available through information points as well as the many Centre staff that are on hand. The highly automated ‘5-star’ Centre car park includes a sensor in each of the 3,400 parking bays that triggers a green or red light over the bay to indicate availability. For those that are not sure where they parked, the information points and pay stations are designed to identify the location of their car on their ticket.
